Prayer is one of the greatest gifts that God has given us, a direct line to the Father that we've been given by our trust and belief on the Son, all facilitated by our Helper here on the Earth known as the Holy Spirit. This triune nature that the Lord God inherently and co-eternally possesses is especially interfaced with by the believer through the power of prayer. But what is prayer? Not the vain repetitions that the publicly pious are fond of being seen engaging in (Matthew 6:7), nor is it merely the wordless act of living by faith without action (James 2:26). Prayer is not a work. Prayer is conversation is God. If there was the Word in the beginning, why would words not be the natural vessel for prayer?

We are continuously encouraged to seek out the Lord in prayer, and this album is a dedication to the venues and locations that we choose to pray in. Always we are able to find Him in the secret place of our mind (Psalms 91:1) and openly are we encouraged to articulate to God what our position and petition might be (Philippians 4:6). We are encouraged to never stop praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Quite a few spots in my life have become on-the-fly prayer closets, and that doesn't limit the spaces to interior confinement. From an abandoned bridge out in Starkey Park that I've yet to encounter another breathing soul at, to the darkness of my southeast bedroom on a new Sealy mattress, the Lord is listening to me, ministering me, comforting me, strengthening me. And that's exactly what He wants to do for you, which is why we as Christians emphasize going to Him in the only way that God provided for us: His Son, belief on his death and burial and resurrection and ascension for the remission of sins, which allows us to be seen without blemish and ultimately delivers us to a state-of-being that the Father adopts in with as much pleasure as He holds in the co-eternal Son. "No man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6B)
